Scenic East Lothian & Northumberland coastlines, down to Berwick-upon-Tweed
Holy Island (depending on tides on the causeway)
Alnwick Castle & Bamburgh Castle (photo stop)
The Scottish borders is a region known for its breathtaking scenery and major historical sites. Additionally, it’s also ripe with areas that are of great interest in movies and TV shows!
After following the Firth of Forth and North Sea coastal roads, behold! Berwick-upon-Tweed, the town that was sacked or captured 13 times before falling into English hands.
Then, go back in time in 793 to the era of the first Viking invasion, with beautiful Holy Island. Continue your tour with a visit of Alnwick castle, a familiar site for fans of Harry Potter, Downtown Abbey and even Star Treck – the next generation. Then, stop at Bamburgh castle, where some of Robin Hood – Prince of thieves was filmed.
On our way back to Edinburgh, stop at Eyemouth, a small fishing village, to sample their award-winning ice cream/ sorbet or their mouth-watering fish & chips.
*And, once again, keep your eyes open for the scenery, which is often just as amazing at the destination…
